Project description

This multi-unit development in the Urban Village precinct of Hampton explores the possibilities of sustainable development and increasing density in our cities. The site has been designed to become a micro-community within the larger scale of the urban fabric and each of the dwellings appeals to residents at a different stage of their lives.

Ample public transport; spacious external storage for bicycles, prams, electric wheelchairs; reduced on-site carparking; solar hydronic heating with gas boost; photovoltaic panels and wind turbine generate power on-site; rainwater collection for household use; greywater treatment and reuse for toilet flushing; passive solar design; north solar access to living areas; sunshading to north windows; vertical screening to protect from west sun; good cross ventilation; internal thermal mass; double glazing; timber window frames; low toxicity materials & finishes; energy efficient lighting; selection of appliances for energy efficiency
